Every year the Association provides statistical information to the Scottish Housing Regulator in a precise format known as the Annual Return on the Charter (ARC). This allows the Regulator, and housing associations like Yorkhill to compare its performance against similar organisations, and those in Scotland as a whole. You can see a snapshot of this information on the SHR's website.

Last year saw some excellent performance continue, and we are happy that we are providing good services to our tenants, factored owners, and other customers.

For more information on our work, and our future plans, please see our VISION in our Business Plan.

We take customer satisfaction very seriously. We carried out an external survey last year - completed by Research Resource - and had some excellent responses:

  • Keeping Tenants informed: 99.1% (Scottish Average 91.4%)

We are very happy that tenants are overwhelmingly pleased with our service. However, we also take criticism and complaints seriously, and learn from our mistakes. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service please get in touch.

Quality & Maintenance of Homes

House Quality
  • 79% of our homes meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS) compared to the Scottish Average of 89.5%. The remaining 21% of properties are exempt due to the age and layout of our stock. For example galley style kitchens cannot ever meet the SHQS are are exempt. Where we can we will adapt properties when they become empty to allow them to meet SHQS - our figure rose from 77.3% last year.

  • Emergency Repairs were carried out within 2.2 hours on average, compared to the Scottish Average of 3.5 hours.

  • Non-Emergency Repairs were carried out within 2.1 days on average, compared with the Scottish Average of 8.8 days.

  • 98.2% of reactive repairs were "right first time" compared with the Scottish Average of 95.3%

We continue to have 100% of our properties with a valid gas safety certificate issued within 12 months of the previous service.

It is vital that our gas appliances are checked annually. Tenants are urged to allow us to carry out these checks to ensure they continue to be safe.

We received 9 requests for adaptations in the year 2025/26, and all were completed. The average time taken to complete the adaptations was 15.1 days.

Complaints & Compliments

Complaint

Our Complaints Handling Procedure is based on the model Scottish Public Services Ombudsman procedure. This means that complaints are answered using a two-stage process. Simpler complaints can be dealt with under Stage 1 which would see a reply within 5 working days. More complex complaints may be answered under Stage 2 which would see a response within 20 working days.

If complainants are still unhappy they can ask the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman to investigate.

During 2025/26:

  • Stage 1 complaints: 32 were received with one still open from the previous year. These 33 were all completed by 31st March 2026 at an average of 4.48 days to respond.
  • Stage 2 complaints: 10 were received and all were completed by 31st March 2026 at an average of 13.1 days to respond.
