Walking Our Stories
News

Walking Our Stories is a new series of free community-led walking tours taking place as part of the Glasgow 2026 Festival, funded by Glasgow Life.
Created and led by Community Storytelling Leaders with personal histories of migration to Glasgow, these unique walking tours invite participants to experience the city through stories of migration, identity, belonging and community.
Rather than focusing on landmarks or historical dates, Walking Our Stories centres the voices of people whose experiences are woven into the fabric of Glasgow. Through personal storytelling, participants will discover a side of the city that offers a new perspective on the communities that continue to shape it.
Two walking routes are available, each delivered on multiple dates throughout the first 2 weeks of August:
Pollokshields & Govanhill
Walking Our Stories: Tickets| Eventbrite
West End & Maryhill
Walking Our Stories: Tickets| Eventbrite
Each tour lasts around 90 minutes, is free to attend, and is limited to 15 participants, helping to create a space for conversation and reflection.
Please note, as the stories shared are based on personal lived experiences, they may touch on sensitive topics, including racism, discrimination and violence.
